The Transit-Lock is an automatic locking wheelchair
securement device. It is a floor mounted device, intended for
use in pairs which secures a wheelchair by means of a mechanical
clamping mechanism. This mechanism captures the larger rear
tires and rims of the wheelchair wheels by a rotational movement
actuated by the wheelchair wheels as they contact the cam. Wheel
guides are an integral part of each Transit-Lock and direct the
wheelchair wheels into the proper position for actuating the clamping
mechanism. A spring actuated, steel locking pin secures the
clamping mechanism in the closed or captured position around each
wheel. |
